Fishing Guide Books

I have fished with a couple and not really satisfied. Looking at the guides web sites, it seems all claim to be the best guide on Lake Texoma.

I am wondering about how to become a pro bass angler, like these guys you see all the time in the tournaments with their sponsors and everything. I want to know the steps you would have to do to become one, also about becoming a guide. My dad was a fishing guide in Colorado, but he has passed many years ago so I am left with little information. So please give me some help.

How do you go about getting a Fishing Guide job? Do you just have to go to local services in the area and see if they are hiring? What do they look for when hiring?
Also, is there an age requirement? I am 18 years old, 1 month shy of 19. Fishing is my favorite activity and would love being able to guide as a summer job.

I have a Red Wolf Reel on my Shimano 6’6 Rod, I received the rod and reel as a gift a few years ago, but Ive been asking around at the fish tackle stores in my area, and no one is familiar with it. Just wanted to find more about it. Also can I adjust it to achieve max performance, I run a spinning rig.

Also on my shimano rod, I noticed that on at least 1 of the guides the inside is a little rusty, Im wondering if there is a lubricant or a sealer I can use to inhibit damage to my line.

Also, if you COULD cast it without getting cut, what is better this 30LB spiderwire or a 40LB Berkley Trilene big game line, considering if i hooked a really big fish?

I got it at walmart for $32. It’s a Rhino Titanium ZR33. It wwas pre-Spooled with 10lb test, but changed it with 20lb. test. It comes with a life time limited warranty. It has a zebco t33 reel.

im looking to buy my first float rod, i have been fishing ever since i was 6 years old so its not like im new to fishing, almost 18 now and i want to change from my spinning rod that is 10 feet long to a float rod becuz of the flexibility. So i would really like some insight onto what i should be looking for in a good long lasting float rod? also i would like to know some good companys that make durable float rods. Most importantly, i would really appreciate if someone can explain the technical terms of float rods. For example, a person is offering me Streamside IM8 13′ 2pcs with SIC guides and sliding ring for 100$ suppose to be in excellent condition, is that a good deal or what? thnx all

So I’ve got like 75 bucks to spend on a trolling rod (buying the reel later), because I want to get some serious fishing done this summer and have never had terrific gear for it. I want this summer to be different, and plan to fish off the coast in SC (maybe off a bridge or two also). What rod would you recommend? I was hoping for a fairly compact one with less than 7 guides, and a roller on the end. Love the rollers, and the heavy duty look that most of them have when they’re short. Help? Any suggestions for trolling are also appreciated, because I’m still a beginner. Much thanks.
