If I could have only one lure for both Smallies and Wallies it would be a number 8 Rapala Shad rap in shad color. Take several and you will not be disappointed. They run deep enough to troll behind a canoe, and dive well on just casting.
As my name tells it all have plenty of them in various sizes and colors. Shad raps have better wiggle to them for the eyes but the originals are good too.
Yes the shad rap is a good lure and so is the Cotton Cordell wally diver.
