Will casting with a topshot of mono and spectra backing get caught up in the guides?
I was wondering if its possible for the knot to get snagged somewhere behind one of the guides as I go for a long cast. I’ll be fishing from a boat, and the fish im going for are some easily spooked yellowtails. This will be my first time using spectra, and im not sure how i should arrange my set up. I was looking to use half of the reel for spectra, and then a top shot of mono. I will probably use the pole to both flyline sardines, and for casting my tadys and salas jr. Info and tips will be greatly appreciated!

You should be fine if you just make sure you have enough line between your lure and the knot to accomodate you longest cast. If you’re planning on trolling w/ it, you will probably need even more line to distance your lure from the boat.
With the correct knot you will have very few problems at all!
